What does Merritt Property Group do?

Merritt Property Group is an independent buyer’s agency based in Queensland, Australia. We help everyday Australians build a property portfolio, specialising in new house and land packages in growth areas Australia-wide. We act for the buyer only, never for sellers or developers.

How does a buyer’s agent work?

You tell us your goals and budget. We research markets, source properties (many off market), do the due diligence, negotiate the price and manage the process to settlement. You make every decision; we do the legwork and act only in your interest.

What does it cost?

We charge the buyer a fee for the sourcing and purchase work, agreed up front before we start. We take no commissions from sellers, builders or developers, so our advice is not tied to any stock we need to move. Fees are covered on the how it works page.

Is Merritt Property Group the same as Merritt Properties in the USA?

No. Merritt Property Group is an Australian buyer’s agency founded by Paul Merritt, based in Queensland, helping Australian property investors. It has no connection to Merritt Properties, a commercial developer in Maryland, USA.

Do you only buy in Queensland?

No. We are based in Queensland and know the SEQ growth corridors deeply, but we source Australia-wide. Our published client results include purchases in Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Victoria.

I’m a tradie on ABN income. Can I still invest?

Yes. Self-employed income needs more paperwork, not a bigger deposit. Many of our clients run trade businesses. Lender policies differ a lot for ABN income, which is why we work alongside brokers who know self-employed lending well.
