Paul Merritt is the founder of Merritt Property Group and a Licensed Real Estate Agent (LREA). He is a third-generation real estate professional with more than 30 years in property, building and development, based in Queensland, Australia, and an active property investor himself.
How is Merritt Property Group paid?
By you, the buyer, and only you. We charge an agreed fee for the sourcing and purchase work, set out before we start. We accept no commissions, kickbacks or referral payments from developers, builders or selling agents.
Why does "independent" matter in a buyer’s agent?
Many firms selling "investment properties" are paid by the developer whose stock they sell, so their advice ends at whatever they need to move. An independent buyer’s agent is paid by the buyer, can recommend any property on or off market, and answers to no one else.
